In south Africa, there are lot of solar power plant, I will introduce you some.
The Kalkbult solar power plant
The Kalkbult solar power plant is a 75MW plant in the Northern Cape region of South Africa. The plant took 8 months to build from january to september 2013, but he was completed 3 months before september, so in june. Formed 312,504 solar panels, spread over 112 hectares, the Kalkbult plant produces 150,000MWh of energy a year, this is enough for 35.000 homes in South Africa. It is owned by Norwegian company Scatec Solar.
The kathu solar power plant
Kathu is the largest solar power plant in South Africa with a capacity of 100MW. The construction started in May 2016 but they started commercial operation in January 2019. The solar plant is approximatly operational during 30 years. The solar power plant is etimated to cost $811m. It will produce enough energy for 179.000 homes in South Africa during peak demand period.
The Jasper solar power plant
An other solar power plant in the Northen Cape region, the jasper solar power plant is a 96MW formed of 325.000 solar panels. He is operationel from october 2014. It is owned by an american company. The plant produces 180GWh of electricity a year, enough to power 80.000 homes in south africa.
