Local initiatives
In 2016 a project has been launched by the UN
against the hunger in Zimbabwe. This project
consist to form and help the local to have a
vegetables, the project has been launched in
Gowke.
According to the UN, this choice is a stragical
one because Gowke is situated in the midlands
and in the Mashonaland North too. Here, The
both regions represents unique agroecological
characteristics because they are also situated
between the Natural Regions.
When the project was launched, the UN promised technical assistance and financing. It enables
local people to get profits of their productions.
Since 2018 the UNDP bought Solar Dryers,
which exploit the solar energy. It increases the
chancesto make profit because this dryer reduce
the Post-harvest losses. Some workers can win
more than 7.50$ with 200g fruits or vegetables.

To conclude, this project gots 3 positive points:
-First it gives work and a salary to UNDP volunteers and also local people.
- Second it's a green project, it means that all the stuff is ecologic.
- And finally the project's heart are the fruits and the vegetables which can feed every hungry people
in Zimbabwe. We can also say that with only fruits and vegetables they can win some money and try
to have a decent life.
