Maasaï in Tanzania


Facts on Maasaï:



Maasaï is an ethnic group constituate by half nomad breeders and warriors of Africa.
They live in the south west of Kenya and in the north of Tanzania.In Kenya , they are 841 622 and three hundred thousand in Tanzania.
Maasaï are one of the most famous ethnicity in occidental public.



Since 2013 , Tanzania’s gouvernement tried to push out of their country Maasaïs.
Maasaï speak the Maa and their religion are animism and christianity.
They eat usually  meat from their own cattle breeding , rice ,bean and cornstarch and they drink milk and blood

The organisation of Maasaï society is based on a group of older who take important decisions for the group. They represent an intermediary between the group and their god, Enkai who has knowleg in magic and divination.



   Maasaï today:

A lot of them give up their origins and traditional culture to live as occidentals .
Since the colonial era ,    Maasaï lose a lot their traditionnal ground


And now, since 2013, Tanzania tried to set up a campaign of expropriation  their ground.
