Zimbabwe's Economy
Zimbabwe is an African country which is, unfortunatelly, well-known because of his poverty.
Zimbabwe is the second poorest African country with 15 million native people and 75 % of unemployment.
Zimbabwe has many sectors of production, in
every cases the agriculture
stays the main source of economy.
The regions near from Harare are the most
productive in agriculture,
On the picture on the left side, you can see that
the green area around Harare is agriculture,
the blue one is diversifying an specialized agriculture.
The yellow areas shows us the mines production like coal.
This coal is exported in the brown areas which are more specialized in industry.
Another reason of this poverty, the GDP: (Gross Domestic Production = PIB in France )
As you can see, among these information, the
GDP per capita listed in 2017 is 1.079$. This
is the maximum since 2014, despite the
decline between 2014 and 2017 by -1.9 %
about the GDP in 2016 which is explained by
the 8.9 $ of Debt in the same year.
Plus, the ressources are exported in other country which reports 4.837 million $ per year.
It represents 48.7% of Zimbabwe's outside trade.
Let's get back to the mines exploitations: in Zimbabwe, the main mine resources are, gold and coal, as you can see on the map , these exploitations are many which is true for most of the regions.
On this map, we can see that the majority of resources exploited is gold.
Most of these mines are situated in the Midlands and all of them are near each other.
The minority of the exploitations are coal mines, most of them are situated in Matabeland North, probably for an easier exportation.
Finally we can observe the mining of many different minerals
like iron or lithium, or even pyrite and volcanic rock for a trade.
